It's the 21st century. It's a great time to be making records. There are innumerable ways to approach every stage of the process. I've put together a mobile studio that's been indispensable to that process. I've used it to record artists' in their own homes. I've done numerous recordings in rehearsal halls and taken advantage of some beautiful instruments by going to them (grand piano at The Royal Conservatory in one of their huge rooms...). This mobile studio is a great option to supplement doing a day or two of bedtracks at a big studio with a great live room and then doing key overdubs at smaller studios depending on the project. I often finish the record with vocal/keyboard/percussion/virtual instrument overdubs with the mobile studio and we can afford to spend the time to get it right.
