162 Word Bio A “gifted musician” with “the soul of a poet” and “a voice of tremendous power and whimsy”, Toronto-based Rob Szabo is a tireless touring troubadour and an acclaimed songwriter. His music has been called “a perfect blend of accessible yet sophisticated acoustic pop.” His CD/DVD Like A Metaphor (2006) received rave reviews, both in Canada and the U.S., where he’s been called “Cobain-worthy”. Canada’s CBC Radio 1 and 3 championed it on shows nationwide, and videos for the singles Breaking Even and Good Son got major airplay on the MuchMoreMusic and Bravo networks, where Breaking Even peaked at #2. Szabo’s lyrics are beyond-heartfelt and have a confessional air to them, prompting some journalists to compare him to Elliott Smith & “prime Costello”. His dedication to touring is garnering him an increasingly devoted base of hardcore music fans who often travel great distances to see him play. Rob's 3rd solo release is "Life & Limb"(2008). Rob plays honest, intense music for music lovers.
