| ::Charlie Kaufman:: [06/22/04] |
| I just watched
the film "Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind" the other day.
Quite a cool flick. Charlie Kaufman is the screen writer that
wrote it. I love his screenplays. If any of y'all ever get
bummed about the lack of creativity in the arts in mainstream media,
just go and watch one of his films. It makes me happy that any of
them ever got made, let alone the string he's done. For the
uninitiated among you, please allow me to recommend: "Being John
Malkovich", "Adaptation" & " Human Nature".
Apparently his new one: "Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless
Mind" is amazing ... haven't seen it yet. There's an
interview with him in Uncut magazine this month. He says some neat
things ... among them: "Being a successful screenwriter hasn't
changed me at all. That's a valuable lesson about success - it
improved a lot of elements of my life, I'm not complaining about it.
But there is an eternal struggle that doesn't have to do with respect.
Maybe I'd be a complete case if i didn't have this in my life.
Maybe it's changed me in ways that i can't see. But it
certainly hasn't relieved me of my loneliness."
